Last night around 7 we got a real treat. We saw a bear from a distance
and as we got closer we saw that she had her 3 cubs with her. They
were climbing a tree as we walked by. We definitely got lucky! Today
we'll be leaving the park and hopefully get better weather soon.

Aww...that's so cute! You did get lucky!Bears sure now how to protect their cubs!Keep up the great work!
That is awesome, is it normal for one female to have three cubs?
does lucy like the bears?
I would be very scarded wer you
Dear mr.DeVoe that is cool were you saed i wold by sared
Thats cool u saw bears I never saw one.Cynthia
This is awesome Chad! Have they been getting into people's foodbags at night?
I love the look of the lowest bear cub. It looks like it's looking around looking at you guys as much as you're looking at them!
And, yes, how did Lucy like them? Did she smell them?
Well, Lucy had to be on her lease throughout Shenandoah National Park. Therefore she didn't really react to the bears. If she were off her lease I bet it would have been a different story. Maybe that's why they require the leashes here...
Yeah, 3 cubs is a lot. I think that's the max per female in one year.
Naughty Bears!
Hey Mr Devoe its Jacob that must of been scary with the baers so close with the cubs, what if they atacked you you are far from a hospotal so you would not be happy camper. good luck if you see more bears. your probaly having fun. well good luck on hte trail/ bye!!!!....
