It's exactly one month until I hike the AT and today my doctor gave me the OK to hike it! He had some good advice as well to help save my feet, knees, and back. I should be (and have been) stretching regularly and exercising occasionally. He seemed to think snowshoeing up and down Giant Mountain over Feb. break was a good stress test and he concluded that I'm in good physical shape. So going into this, here are some statistics:

Chad DeVoe
Age: 27
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 175
Body Mass Index: 23.7
Foot Length: 9 3/4"
Foot Width: 3 7/8"
Resting Pulse Rate: 65

Hello, Mr. DeVoe. This is the amazing human being, Alen, and Jason and I, as you may know, are doing our Science Night Project all about you. You and your expedition through this glorious country. I was wondering if we (Jason and I) could talk with you about interviews, recording them, etc. :)

Hello Alen and Jason. I would love to chat with you guys. If it is convenient on your end, I will be in the LMC tomorrow after school working on the memory book. If not, we can figure something else out.

Okay. Tomorrow after school in the LMC it will be. See you there!

Are you flat footed at all? If so or if you feel you might like some extra sole support I highly recommend "SuperFeet" arch supports. They have them at REI but I am not sure where to get them on the east coast. You probably already have mole skin in you supply list. I like those big band aids to protect my heels (but wouldn't want to carry 5 months worth!)
Take Care,
Jeff

This trail has always been on my "to do" list and I feel it's a good way to show all of the Groton students why hiking can be so cool. Lucy is my friend's dog and Lucy LOVES to hike. I'm sure she'll like it. I hope you follow along over the next few months. Thanks for writing Jacob.
